Description

ELEVATION BROOK TLT

THE IDEAL FLY ROD FOR THE ITALIAN CASTING STYLE

As the product name already suggests, the ELEVATION BROOK TLT from Guideline is also part of the Elevation Brook rod series. However, due to its somewhat more specialised characteristics, we would like to present it to you as a separate product, as it differs from the other Elevation Brook rods in terms of its application.

TLT - THE ITALIAN CASTING STYLE

The indication of line class #3/4/5 for this fly rod may seem a little confusing at first glance, but with the addition of TLT makes perfect sense. This abbreviation stands for Tecnica di Lancio Totale, a very special casting style that was developed and defined by the Italian Massimo Pragliola and is also known internationally as the Italian casting style. Light fly lines are used on comparatively short fly rods, with which you can achieve very high line speeds when casting thanks to the fast, progressive rod action. This enables you to cast extremely tight loops, making this tackle combination ideal for keeping the line just above the surface of the water when casting, allowing you to place your dry fly perfectly under overhanging vegetation even in tight situations. This casting style allows you to reach impressive distances of 20 metres and more even with a comparatively short fly rod and light line. And the 7'6" short ELEVATION BROOK TLT is exactly the right rod for this.

At short and medium casting distances, however, this rod require a correspondingly high line weight in order to work optimally. This fly rod can also be used to cast a streamer on a #5 WF line to proper distances in tight environments, where you don’t have the necessary space for longer rods.

The features of the ELEVATION BROOK TLT are based on the other rods in the Elevation family. The 3-piece rod blanks are only lightly sanded and have a matt finish. The rod handle is made from fine 3A cork and has a Half Wells shape, which makes it easier to hold the rod in the special TLT position. The aluminium uplock reel seat is "clear" anodised. The stainless-steel single leg running guides are powder-coated. The rod is supplied in a rod case and a protective rod tube.

It goes without saying that the ELEVATION BROOK TLT also meets all the sustainability criteria that characterise Elevation fly rods in terms of the manufacturing process and the materials used.

THE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY DETAILS

  • Unnecessary material was removed during the development of the blanks. Positive side effect: the action of the rod could be determined much more precisely.
  • The blanks are only lightly sanded and not additionally coloured. The carbon fibre dust is collected separately and does not end up in the wastewater.
  • The half-well rod handles are made of AAA cork, deliberately without rubber cork ends.
  • The reel seats are anodised without chrome (lead) or additional paint. This minimises the toxicity of the process.
  • A bio-based epoxy resin is used to coat the rod blank, paint the rod guide wrapping and glue the rod handles.
  • The coatings on the rod guides are chrome-free and therefore also lead-free.
  • The rod sheath and cover of the rod tube are made from recycled polyester.
  • Recycled polypropylene is used for the rod tube instead of PVC.
